Africa Trip

James and I believe that every day that provides the ability to get up, show up, and participate in activities that we enjoy represents a priceless gift.

We love to explore new places and expand our world.  One of the ways in which we do this is by traveling to lands both near and far. Please check back from time to time to

see our latest adventures.

Having just returned from the adventure of a lifetime, we wish to share a few of our favorite photos from our travels to South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Botswana, August 2021.

Love at first sight!  Coco and all of the other elephants stole our hearts at the Elephant Sanctuary in Zimbabwe.

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.  Words and photos don’t do it justice.  One of the seven wonders of the world is also referred to as ’the smoke that thunders.

We were delighted to see our first of many Kudus.  They are both graceful and beautiful with twisted antlers and unique markings.  This handsome lad is a mature male.

Chobe National Park, Savute Game Lodge.  These friends met at the watering hole in front of the lodge.  The watering hole was a continual source of enjoyment as it was visited by huge herds of Wildebeest and Impala during our stay.

Chobe National Park, Savute Game Lodge. Chobe National Park covers an area of 4,517 miles in Botswana.  During an afternoon game drive, we happened across the largest lion pride in the park; last count was 17 lions.  You can see by the photo that this big male is the King.  The lioness laying in front of him is ready to deliver very soon.

This sign was posted at the Chobe Game Lodge.  No explanation needed!

We were treated to a magnificent cruise on the Zambezi river at sunset.  It was an incredible sight to see the elephants and their reflections in the river.

You never know what you’ll find just around the bend.  In this case, we were being observed by an extremely large and curious herd of Cape Buffalo. What an incredible sight!

Until next time…
